Acne-Curing Diet Treatment and Tips!

Acne has been termed one of the most significant concerns for most teens. This is because it sprouts just when one hits puberty and begins to experience chemical and hormonal changes. Acne is associated with unsightly blackheads, pimples and pumps which dot the face, neck and even arms of some teenagers. The condition, while common in teens, is not solely confined to them but can also attack adults and the elderly.
Acne symptoms
One of the telltale signs that acne has struck is the emergence of discoloration, pumps and pimples on the skin. These pumps usually are resistant to regular facial lotion and even washing and scrubbing (in many cases this actually aggravates their spread). While acne has been known to concentrate more on the facial region, it has been known to spread to the next, shoulders and even forearms. In its most acute, acne can actually cause discoloration, disfiguring of the facial features and even scarring. This has wreaked havoc on many a teen's self-esteem.
Reasons for acne
Acne researchers and dermatologists have invested liberally in finding a cure and prevention. One of the reasons advanced for the emergence of acne is diet. While oils have been deemed a culprit, diets that lack in Vitamins especially Vitamin E have been blamed for many of the outbreaks. Some teens have the erroneous notion that acne stems from being dirty but there is no medical research data that supports this. Because of this belief, many teens scrub, rub and attempt to rid themselves of acne by being overly clean but this only worsens the condition.
Research has also revealed that acne can be caused by chemical and hormonal imbalance in the body. This explains why it develops during the teen years when the body is said to be making the transition to adulthood and is still looking for its hormonal bearing. Acne caused by hormonal changes can also afflict women especially during conception, pregnancy and after child-birth. Other reasons are menstruation and switching birth-control methods.
Acne treatment
Acne sufferers can purchase lotions, cremes and ointments made from benzyne peroxide. Diets that are rich in vitamins especially the E type have been known to help eradicate acne. Severe acne can be medically treated using antibiotics and even more severe cases may require surgery.
